Why Hadoop shows up in data listings

Hadoop was the original big-data ecosystem — HDFS for distributed storage, MapReduce for distributed processing — before cloud data warehouses and Spark made most of its components redundant for new projects. Listings mentioning it in the Australian market today are usually maintaining an existing on-premises Hadoop cluster at a large, older enterprise (banking, telco, insurance) rather than building anything new on it, so it's a reasonable signal for legacy-system experience rather than current best-practice tooling.
